If the result of a calculation is not what you expected, use the following steps to reset the HP 10s calculator.

Press [Shift] [CLS] [2] [=]

The HP 10s will be display:

Mode Clear

Press [ON]

The HP 10s will perform a quick self-test and if there is an anomaly, clears all stored data and resets the calculator. It successful, display: 0
