In Hungary you may find HPPC-s. I would like to know if there is any Users Manual in Hungarian language for the HP-17b. I am also interested if there is any Users Manual for the 41C, 48cx and 49 and even for earlier HPPC-s. Thanx! Janos

You can try fixthatcalc.com . They do fix Hp calculators. However you can probably buy a used one off of ebay for not much more and you will get it much sooner than waiting for a repair. Depending upon your needs, there are other options you could also consider ie do you need RPN? Yes, then obtianing another Hp 17Bii or repairing your existing Hp is your best option. If you use your Hp17Bii in Algebraic mode, a plain Hp 17b will serve you just as well and they usually sell for less than half the cost of an Hp 17Bii version. If you don´t use the solver and only use the TVM functions, you might consider the much cheaper, lower end Hp 10B series. Just my $0.02

The LCD of my 17BII calculator is busted and I went to the HP service center in makati city. They told me that they do not repair 17BII hp calculators anymore as there is no more support and service for that kind of calculator. Where then can I it repaired given the fact that an HP service center has declined to help me. What about the HP calculators that are being sold at Office Warehouse or at Yutivo corporation in case that the calculators are not functioning, where can they have it repaired? Cesar

Hi, my uncle gave me an HP 17BII calculator. The problem is it has no batteries. Could you kindly tell me what type of batteries should I buy and where in the Philippines can I buy the said batteries? I already asked the HP office in Makati and they told me that their service centers do not sell the said batteries. Could you kindly furnish me the list of stores here in the Philippines that sells HP batteries such as 17BII. Thank you very much. Cesar

I am a university professor and we do not allow students to use alphanumerical (programmable) calculators on exams in microeconomics. Could you inform me whether the HP 17 BII is alphanumerical or programmable?

thanks

To calculate the cube root of a number on the 17b use the y^x key and raise the number to the 1/3 (.3333333) power.
