Using HP50g Calculator Connectivity Kit (CONNX4)

Hi Grace,
Most of time, the problem is caused by the USB Driver that was not properly installed.
I would think an alternatively method is to use the SD Card to save and transfer data between the PC & the 50g. ROM can be updated via SD card. Follow this link...

Creo que es viejo, pero pienso que he encontrado una solución .. o al menos eso creo, podrían intentarlo.
En algún post de esta lista dice que puso la configuración en Wire y que ya funcionó.
Mi problema inició cuando le transferí programas a un amigo vía inflarrojo.
Por lo tanto mi teoría es que se queda guardad esa configuración, y cuando activas el servidor xmodem, piensa que es vía inalámbrico y por eso truena.
Simplemente puse que transfiriera via cable.. y ya que puse eso, le di cancelar.. regresé a la pantalla y apliqué la rutina de siempre para conectarse.
Y se conectó.. espero esto le sirva a alguien.

hola, tengo un problema con mi calculadora hp50G. no la puedo conectar. cuando abro el conecctivity kit, no puedo poner la ioopcion que dice USB Calculator, solo me aparece la opcion auto y la COM1. Si alguien me puede ayudar me haria un favor enorme. Muchas Gracias.

Olá,
Também estava com problemas para conectar minha HP 50G ao PC (windows XP Pro), porém consegui da seguinte maneira.
- Abre o programa conn4X
- Conecta Cabo USB na calculadora
- Aperta shift direito (vermelho) da uma pausa
- então aperta seta para direita
- A mensagem "Xmodem Server waiting for command" aparecerá na tela
- Ai é so clicr em arquivo>conectar no software e pronto.

hola yo tengo un problema con mi HP49G+ por que no se que le paso por lo unico que aparece en la pantalla es "try to recovery memory" y me da 2 opciones:USB y Card.
Pero no realiza nada mas ni siquiera la reconoce la PC ¿Que puedo hacer?

Realize una descarga de un programa a la calculadora 49G de una laptop, pero se quedo bloqueada la calculadora y al reiniciar esta solo aparece la leyenda "try to recovery memory" y ambas opciones me llevan a lo mismo, esto es, presenta unicamente una pantalla con unas rayas al centro y no puedo realizar mas, lo unico que intente fue lo que trae el manual de usuario sobre como reestablecer el sistema si es que uno de los puertos esta mal. Pero no tengo mas resultados que una pantalla casi en blanco.
Agradezco su ayuda.

Eu tambem precisava de um cabo e acabei achando
um cabo de camera digital que era o mesmo terminal então basta vc procurar em lojas de componentes eletronicos os cabos de camera e ver qual tem o mesmo terminal.

Olá pessoal,meu problema é o seguinte. Eu consigo conectar a calculadora com o pc , mas eu não consigo transferir dados do pc para a calculadora com o programa connectivo que vem com ela e nem mesmo com o Winhp(TGV). Se alguem puder me ajudar ficaria muito agradecido.

Like all of you I have the same problem. Theres no way to get a connection between PC and HP49G+. It seems to be a driver problem, when I (re-)install the new drivers then connection SOMETIMES work. But only for some seconds.
To me it seems the HP49G+ crashes when a signal comes. Unless the cable is plugged in the calculator you cant do anything with it. First you need to unplug the USB cable.
(I am using the USB Driver Ver 1.2 and Connectivity Kit 2.2 Build 2353)
Has anyone an idea ???

Tbém sou de Sorocaba e tbém estou com o mesmo problema, não consigo conectar a minha hp8gII no PC, ela mostra sempre a mesma mensagem, ( verficar o cabo de conexão).
Gostaria de saber se vc conseguiu resolver seu problema e se tem alguma dica....

Maybe its a misfunction in the XSERVER. Try traansferring data with the manual XRECV....

ayudame que no puedo conectar mi hop (cablev usb) con la pc sale error o se queda ocngelando buscando la calcu. si detecta el drive hp49 pero no conecta a la calcu.. gracias por la ayuda

O meu problema é um pouquinho pior, eu tenhu u cabo de conexão mas ele não é USB, e sim aquelas entradas antigas de mouse, não sei se é isso, mas acredito que seja este o meu problema de coneção. alguem sabe como solucionar?

holas me compre ua hp 49g+ y tengo el problema a mi pc si fuerna tanbuenos y decire como lo hyago ya hilo hize varias veces pero nada no conecta solo sale un mensaje que dice que no hay conexion comprueba tu conexion podr favor les agradeceria byyyeeeee

Think I´ve found a solution...
First, select Port=WHIRE Type=Kermit
Fmt=BIN Chk=3 (dunno how mutch these last 2 settings matters for the connection).
Connect USB to PC, then shut down calculator and
restart with cable connected to port.
Then click and release RIGHT SHIFT, and then
RIGHT CURSOR:you have to see "Xmodem Server Waiting for Command", not "Awaiting Server Cmd".
Check IOPAR;it has to be something like: { 115200. 0. x. x. x. x }, where x is
any real number.That´s all :you´re done.

tinha o mesmo problema, conseguí solucianá-lo da seguinte forma: tecla shift para a direita depois seta para direita, vai aperecer no visor XSERV(), tecle ENTER, APARECE NO VISOR: XMODEN SERVER
WAITING FOR COMMAND, pronto es´ta conectada, só que agora enfrento outro problema, não consigo transferir dados do pc para a hp

Alguem ajuda ai... uso Win98 e fiz tudo certo, mas quando coloco pra conecta a hp aparece erro(no device detected. Check the cable connections and the calculator.)

Faça o seguinte:
1) Calculadora: modo RPN; Flags: 33(desmarcar) 34(marcar);
2) Conectar o cabo USB NO PC e na HP;
3) Abrir o programa de conexão Conn4x (Connectivity kit: www.hp.com/calculators); em connect using: deixe em Auto, para o programa escolher a porta serial apropriada.
Fazer o seguinte procedimento, simultaneamente: Pressionar a tecla shift-direita (red) na calculadora - pressionar o atalho de conexão (ou: File -> connect) no Conn4x - pressionar seta de avanço direita na calculadora. Se fizer corretamente, vai aparecer na tela a seguinte msg: Xmodem server waiting for command
Pronto! A conexão será realizada.

el programa para conectar la hp49+
se encuentra en la página www.hpcalc.org
deben entrar en advanced search y buscar
windows xp y teclear hp49 y luego search
el primer programa es el adecuado y cada vez que conecten la calculadora al pc deben antes borra el iopar
el programa es HP48GII and HP49G+ PC Connectivity Kit 2.2.2353

Compré una HP49g+ y traté de conectarla a mi computador personal (windows xp)instalanado previamente el controlador y me aparece un texto en el cual me indica que no se puede hacer tal conexión. favor indicarme qué puedo hacer con esta situación. Gracias por su ayuda.

Hi guys....had same problem too!!!
Think I´ve found a solution...
First, select Port=WHIRE Type=Kermit
Fmt=BIN Chk=3 (dunno how mutch these last 2 settings matters for the connection).
Connect USB to PC, then shut down calculator and
restart with cable connected to port.
Then click and release RIGHT SHIFT, and then
RIGHT CURSOR:you have to see "Xmodem Server Waiting for Command", not "Awaiting Server Cmd".
Check IOPAR;it has to be something like: { 115200. 0. x. x. x. x }, where x is
any real number.That´s all :you´re done.

USB Connection problems....
Maybe its a misfunction in the XSERVER. Try traansferring data with the manual XRECV....

Imposible, ya hasta aburrido estoy d eintentar de miles d emaneras de conectar mi hp49g+ y no hay manera, antes pude, y todo marchaba bien, luego como no es nada raro con los usuarios de windows, re instale windowsXP y desde entonces.. como simpre miles d eproblema sy uno de ellos es que jamas volvi a conectar mi calculadora!

press on "apps" button, go to "I/O functions" and select the "transfer" option...
Then, the port must be Wire and type Kermit... Press on Enter... and everything might be ok! so, I hope...

Like all of you I have the same problem. Theres no way to get a connection between PC and HP49G+. It seems to be a driver problem, when I (re-)install the new drivers then connection SOMETIMES work. But only for some seconds.
To me it seems the HP49G+ crashes when a signal comes. Unless the cable is plugged in the calculator you cant do anything with it. First you need to unplug the USB cable.
(I am using the USB Driver Ver 1.2 and Connectivity Kit 2.2 Build 2353)
Has anyone an idea ???

Sou de Belo Horizonte, comprei minha 49G+ e tive um problema quase igual o seu. Quando clico no ícone para conectar, aparece uma janela com a seguinte mensagem: Error(No device detected. Check the cable connections and the calculator.) Chequei o cabo USB, testei em outra máquina e parece estar tudo ok mas não consigo conectar. Se puder me ajudar, ficarei muito grato. João

I have a problem connecting my hp to the computer, when I install the connx4, after save the files in the computer, the installshield engine says that a problem has been detected and should be close. I try to install the program that provides the hp cd include with the 49G+ and doesn´t work, and download the program that this site provide and it doesn´t work either, I think that my hp have to be actualice with the program that you offer in this site, what can I do? (I´m from venezuela sorry for my english but is urgent)
