How do I calculate on a HP17bII+ the CAGR when I know the end figure and the compounding periods but NOT the start figure?

Is there an easy way to calculate the weighted mean with the calculator? Even using the manual I cannot do it. On the HP 10b and HP 12c it is easy to do with just the input key and the E+(sum) key.

Hi, I don´t think there is a 17bII emulator for iPhone.

After reading the reviews on the HP 17bII+ a couple of years ago, I immediately bought a couple of extra 17bIIs on eBay to ensure that I wouldn´t have to settle for the obviously inferior 17bII+ when the one I was using finally died.

Now I see that HP has given the 17bII+ a new look...a shiny metal face. I guess this may imply that they´ve made it sturdier and may even have addressed the poor tactility of the original 17bII+. Has anybody tried the latest and greatest to see how it compares to the 17bII and the original 17bII+?

Redesigning their printers so that they could no longer bear the weight of a 250 lb engineer made sense. But applying the same logic to their calculators obviously resulted in inferior calculators. I sure would like to see them go back to their former level of quality.

Forget about radio Shack. I buy mine in the camera electronics section of Walmart. They´re available in packs of three and the last time I bought a 3-pack it cost me about $3.65 for three batteries.

Radio Shack has replacement batteries. It is about $ 15 forthe three required batteries.

Try http: www.fixthatcalc.com . All they do is repair HP calculators. As they usually keep the ones that can´t be repaired, they should have a pretty good supply of parts.

I can not turn my 17B II off after having a very difficult time getting it turned on. It appears that t he CLR button is not consistently functioning as verified by entering any number and the depressing tyhe CLR key to clear the number. I have replaced and reset the calculator without success. Does anyone have any suggetions?

I am new to the fleet leasing industry and want to use the 17BII for figuring lease caclulations on open end leases, which is really a step down amortizaton, and applied interest on the montly book value. I can do this by hand, but want to see if there is a short cut in the HP that will help me do this.

Also, will it help me figure a lease factor annually?

this is a beautifully designed efficient and user friendly instrument that operates just as a spreadsheet menu on the screen; You do not have to look all over the keyboard and press shift keys. Hit the mode button and you´re crankin´ for most basic financial calculations.

Imagine arrow buttons with nothing written on them! The writing is on the screen!

Looks classically impressive not overstated like the threatening 12C

this device is flawed. it is not as good as the HP-17BII and it should be recalled by HP. It is sympotatic of a company that is on decline. the processor is slow and the keyboard feels very cheap and others I have come across in college have had repeating keys and all have cashed their 17BII+ in for the older HP-12, older and better HP-12C due to its superior reliability.
