I have lost my manual and need to have a mortgage payment calculated on a 365 365 interest basis. How do I do that?

Thanks Ron, it was driving me nuts. Looks like it is time to upgrade.
In reply to Ron :
No. Not on the standard Hp 12c. The newer platinum models (and maybe later versions) have a shift key to delete the last entry. I also consider this a design flaw as the Hp 11c, Hp 15c, and the Hp 16c did allow for digit corretion. The Hp 10c behaves like the Hp 12c and deletes the whole entry. On another note, the Hp 35s and Hp 17Bii allow you to edit the same as your Hp 41cx.

My 41cx could delete a single digit at a time when entering a number. The 12c deletes the entie numer. Any way to change this to act like my 41cx?

Is there a serial number date of mfg. chart for the 12C? I have 4, marked USA, China and Singapore. Various rear markings, identical operation.

turn off your calculator. Hold down the decimal button . while you press the ON button.
This will reset it back to decimal points for fractions and commas to separate 1,000´s

Seems like a common refrain, no handbook, but. In my display I have an asterisk in the lower left hand coner and I do not know why it sits there pulsing. I thought it might be weak batteries, so I replaced them and it does not seem to have any impact.

Does HP 12C calculate on 360 day or 365 day interest calculation when calculating payments for amortized loan.

I have just downloaded a the basic 12c calculator program to my handheld iPaq PDA and wanted to calculate accrued interest for bonds. From your tutorial it talks about pressing X> but I gather that must be a key on the 12c Platinum, since I can´t find a X> key on the 12c. Can anyone advise?

Your strange 12C display may disappear if you short across the battery terminals from end to for a moment with the batteries in place. Several shorts may be needed. Use tweezers or metal paper clip.
