i dont know how to erase all and make it like was the first time i buy it because i cant x^2 and it apear like sq() i i dont know what happened i need help.

I just bought an HP50g and managed, with difficulty, to perform the firmware upgrade over USB. The instructions given by the program are misleading.
When prompted, you have to:
hold down the ´+´ and ´-´ keys,
press the reset (i.e. paperclip in reset hole on back),
release the reset, then wait at least two seconds before releasing the ´+´ and ´-´ keys.
This worked for me.
