Sure like to know if the silver model is an improvement to the older model as Im seriously thinking of buying this calculator.
In reply to Mike: After reading the reviews on the HP 17bII+ a couple of years ago, I immediately bought a couple of extra 17bIIs on eBay to ensure that I wouldn´t have to settle for the obviously inferior 17bII+ when the one I was using finally died.
Now I see that HP has given the 17bII+ a new look...a shiny metal face. I guess this may imply that they´ve made it sturdier and may even have addressed the poor tactility of the original 17bII+. Has anybody tried the latest and greatest to see how it compares to the 17bII and the original 17bII+?
Redesigning their printers so that they could no longer bear the weight of a 250 lb engineer made sense. But applying the same logic to their calculators obviously resulted in inferior calculators. I sure would like to see them go back to their former level of quality.
