Problem should be resolved by turning 12c off then on. Go here for resetting instructions if that fails: http: h10025.www1.hp.com ewfrf wc document?docname=bpia5202&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=81575&dlc=en&lang=en

I wish I had thought of googling this three years ago. I have no idea how the decimal point became a comma, but it looks like this is a common occurence based on the feedback here.

Since I put the new battery in I got the darn comma which drove me crazy! I learned quickly I could still get my calculations, just pretended the comma was a decimal, yet still very irritated. NOw that I finally made time to seek out my manuel to FINALLY fix this, I cant find it!! I paniced thinking now I´ll NEVER get it fixed, now I´m screwed! Fortunatly, I thought to go to google. Found this website in a matter of minutes and am sooooooo happy now. THis site is BOOKMARKED in myfavorites! THANK YOU!

Where I attend school, the college bookstore has six of the HP12C calculators on the shelf. The nearby office supply store has three. This calculator still holds a share of the market!
