hp 20s scientific calculator

I don´t believe any such FREE manual exists. However, the Hp website has a way to navigate to the calculator section and you can download tips and sample program modules to learn from. They are pretty good (not a manual though). If you want the real manual, it is available from the Hp museum via purchasing a CD (which includes dozens of manuals, one of which is for the Hp 20s). I believe it is around $10-15.

The Hp website approach should be enough for you to start and use the calculator to its fullest advantage.

If this is your first experience with this calculator, remember it is an AOS calculator, not an EOS calculator (and NOT RPN). So modern calculator manuals are of little use to learn how to use or program this calculator. I personally like AOS better than EOS, but the current majority of calculators are now EOS.

If you need a complete copy of the manual you will most likely need to purchase a CD from the museum of Hp calculators (google Hpmuseum). If you just need to learn some simple programmming examples or functions, Hp´s company website has some online tutorials available.

Set your calculator to degrees mode (default) ant the Grad indicator will disappear. Your Hp 20s has three angle modes, degrees, radians, and gradians. Most Ti calculators have no longer offer this mode.

Hp´s own website has some information of how to use and program this model. However, they do not offer a manual either (yet). If you really need a manual, it is for sale from the museum of Hp calculators on a single disk for approx $10-15- for a disk that has this and several other Hp calculator manuals.

I would love to see a new version of the 42s return. I´m still using mine from 1989. "Enter" key has seen better days. - & I agree, the smaller footprint size would be preferable.
Has anyone heard of a new 42s version in the works?

My ugly green and white key one died. My spare turned out to be a Blue and gold key verison, yee hah, I get to enjoy the real HP format in my twilight years (well, with stock market these days, forget that) Relalbity wise they don´t take much abuse, I carry mine in a leather pouch and they still die, third one now. I got a 35S to be sure I have a sapre, love going back to RPN, but its going to be hard to get used to the new setup, and the larger size does not fit in a shirt pocket the way the 20S did (or its predesesors which is what it is supposed to be). We need an RPN verion of the 20 S

This manual may not be available via the web and you may need to purchase if you need from the Hpmuseum.org

However, I believe the Hp21s is available via the web, google and you should find. Nearly the same calculator aside from built in programs, but programming and use are the same.
