I have a program to calculate density which works fine on the hp 48g. Since the 48g is replaced by the 48gii, I purchased the new one but the exact same program gives me a syntax error and highlights a left squiggly bracket???

1. Attach the calculator to the PC via the USB cable and turn on the calculator.
2. Start Conn4x.
3. On the calculator, press right-shfit, then right arrow. The display will show "Xmodem Server. Waiting for command"
4. In Conn4x, Select File|Connect. A dialog box will appear asking if the calculator is in RPN or ALG mode. Select your mode and press ok.
The window should fill in with the objects in your calculator´s HOME directory. You can now drag & drop objects.
To disconnect, select File|Disconnect from the program.
If you find that Conn4x hangs, turn off the calculator, exit Conn4x, turn the calculator back on and try again. I´ve found that this is the only sequence that prevents it from hanging again.

If you are very familiar with the 48 series then forget the 49. There are changes in the keyboard layout and some functions that I found too hard to adjust to. My 49 is gathering dust.
It does, however have a better display and the build quality is high. There ia also a hard transparent slide over cover which is kickass. All that good stuff and I still don´t like it.
In reply to Juan: Can anyone tell me what really is the difference between HP48gii & HP49g+?
I really appreciate it

i used to be hp calculator fanatic because of their
elegant design particulary in the 1970s eg the classic hp67 model. Nowadays hp calculator design sucks.hp should consider reusing old model design to house the latest calculator technology. it might help boost sales.
